Basic tips & guidelines for newbies

* Parents who are new to cloth diapering. It is best that you do some research and and find out what are the best option for you and your baby`s needs. It is recommended that a newborn would at least need 1 dozen of cloth diaper due to the frequent poop for the first 3 months. If cloth diapers are wash everyday, 1 dozen should be fine but if you wash every alternate day, 2 dozen is advisable (from my personal experience with my newborn and the unpredictable weather change in KK). At least 3-5 diaper cover to change, unsoiled diaper cover can be used up to 3-4 times for every fitted diaper change. Depending on the absorbency, Fitted cloth diaper can also be used as a night time diaper.

* As your baby has pass the 3rd month, you may now know the schedule of your baby routine and he / she is mature enough to wear pocket diapers ( remember to use a clean pocket diaper after every soiled change for hygienic reasons). If you have 2 babies that are close in age, you may want to invest in several medium sizes of pocket diaper (for personal colour) or opt for the OneSize pocket diaper. As most babies stay in medium sizes cloth diaper more that small sizes cloth diaper, it is wise that you choose according to your baby's needs. All babies comes in variety of sizes and some babies who has pass the 3rd month can still wear in a small size cloth diaper. It is best that you check your child's sizings.

* Most cloth diapered babies also tend to be potty trained early, check signs to know when your child is ready, training pant comes in handy for the in betweens of getting to the potty or loo. As some child might not be able to control their bladder and you don't want to wet the floor. Parents would like to opt for at least 3-5 training pants and you can still use the pocket diaper ot fitted cloth diaper for night time use.

* For basic laundry, If laundry is done as early as 7am, pocket diaper should be ready by noon (2pm or so..) it takes a longer time to dry fitted and AIO due to its absorbency, it is also recommended that extra insert is needed for pocket diaper if another one is still up for drying.
